THORNHILL "INDIGO"
Details:
- A trucker jacket crafted from 13oz right-hand twill raw denim, using rope-dyed pure indigo yarns. Inspired by 1930s–40s denim blousons, it is reworked with a linear sensibility influenced by traditional Japanese kimono construction—removing sleeve crown shaping to achieve a clean, structured silhouette.
Vintage details from WWII-era Type I jackets are thoughtfully incorporated, including the use of donut buttons. The front flap is redesigned to be shorter and can be tucked into the pocket, referencing the appearance of WWII Type I models without visible flaps. The back construction is also reimagined—drawing from the classic T-back, but developed into a cross-back design. Side splits with button adjustments add both function and flexibility, seem like inspired by Type II.
The fabric features slub yarns with a white core, creating a rich, expressive texture. As an untreated kibata denim, it retains a natural fuzziness and a firm, rigid hand feel unique to raw fabric.
