- Designed with reference to 18th-century work pants unearthed in California, these trousers feature a deep rise and a wide silhouette that falls generously from thigh to hem. Crafted from a high-density back satin woven from a cotton-hemp blend. Hemp yarn in the weft lends a natural coolness, while open-end spun cotton yarn in the warp creates a soft yet richly textured hand. In a standard satin weave, one side is smooth and lustrous while the other is more matte and textured. With back satin, the matte side becomes the face, giving it a more subdued, workwear-appropriate look while still benefiting from the structure of the satin weave. All buttons and back components feature original engravings and are made from iron with a smoked plating finish.
