LOT.303 COVERALL JACKET "HAND DRAWN SUMI"
Details:
- This jacket takes its inspiration from an unbranded American coverall dating back to 1910, discovered in a coal mine and later added to Takahashi’s collection more than a century later. T.T’s reinterpretation, the Coverall Jacket hand drawn sumi, reflects a deep fascination with vintage workwear. The design draws from the marbling effects of sumi ink artworks created by Kamisoe, a Kyoto-based karakami workshop. Cotton fabric is hand-painted with sumi ink by a Yuzen dyeing artisan, capturing the subtle nuances of brushstrokes; no two pieces are the same, as each displays unique variations in shading and line. Completing the construction, the buttons and back parts are forged from iron, left uncoated to naturally develop a distinctive patina and aged beauty over time.
