Lot.333 BUCKLE-BACKED JACKET C.1930'S "CHARCOAL"
Details:
- Inspired by 1930s denim jackets, this piece reflects the evolution of early workwear design. During a period of limited resources, the addition of flaps to patch pockets represented a significant improvement in functionality and durability. The front pleats are reinforced with additional stitching, refining the construction and bringing the single-pocket jacket design to its completed form.
The cotton satin fabric uses coarse-count yarns on the reverse side to enhance strength and abrasion resistance. Inspired by 1950s military garments that utilized the reverse face of fabrics for improved durability, this construction highlights the natural irregularity of the yarns, creating a distinctive texture and character. Custom-engraved buttons and back hardware are crafted from iron and finished with a smoked-style plating, giving the surface a subdued, aged appearance that evokes the passage of time.
