Lot.618 SIDE HENRY NECK "BLACK"
Details:
- Based on 1940s wool jersey underwear, this piece reinterprets the functional details of vintage undergarments through a refined construction. Period underwear often featured a Henley-style front opening due to limited elasticity. Designed as a layering piece beneath shirts, the opening is shifted from the center front to the side to reduce overlap, while the back neckline is reinforced with a matching fabric panel for added durability.
The jersey is knitted densely from specially developed yarn that recreates the natural irregularity of early textiles, reflecting a time when perfectly uniform yarns were difficult to produce. The sleeves feature a two-tier circular-knit rib construction inspired by 1910s undershirts, with a contrasting two-tone color treatment between the rib and body as seen in vintage examples.
