THE DITC NEWSPAPER BAG AGED "ORANGE"
Details:
- Founded by designer Ken'ichi Gonmori, Bow Wow specializes in creating clothing that embodies the spirit of the vintage, incorporating elements from archive and second-hand apparel. Gonmori's approach involves reimagining and reworking classic designs, often paying homage to iconic pieces from the past.
Before the 1940s, newspaper boys dashing through city streets carried wide-strap newspaper bags proudly displaying their newspaper company's logo. Made of thick canvas that held its shape even when loaded with stacks of papers, the scuffs and stains accumulated during daily deliveries became tangible proof of their work. This piece is inspired by the bags beloved by delivery staff of the fictional pre-1940s newspaper company “THE DITC NEWS”. The wide shoulder strap reduces strain on the shoulders and molds to the body with use. The surface replicates the fading, stains, and wrinkles from years of use, evoking the authentic feel of the era. Its design, combining ruggedness and warmth, adapts seamlessly from everyday use to serving as a styling accent. It radiates a presence that captivates vintage enthusiasts.
